CAMP DELTA

Held at a nearby retreat site, college students and fellow community members come together to spend an entire weekend learning more about one another and, more immportantly, about themselves. Camp Delta offers a well-planned retreat filled with workshops on team building, leadership, and organizatonal logistics.

Led by a great committee, attendees engage with counselors and staffers from their universities and community. Attendees are randomly separated into different families at the beginning of the retreat only to become connected as friends by the end of the retreat.

The retreat is from: Friday, August 7th, 2015, to Monday, August 10th, 2015

Camp Delta 8 will be held at Fountainebleau State Park in Mandeville. It is about an hour away from New Orleans, Louisiana.

The address of the camp site is: 62883 Louisiana 1089, Mandeville, LA 70443

TEAMWORK

Many of the workshops planned by the counselors revolve around creating trust among the family members. The teamwork activities focus on understanding roles and learning about self-limitations. Communication is an important key in team building. Attendees work together with their peers to develop plans, execute their actions, and reflect on activities for each workshop.

LEADERSHIP

Interest alone in Camp Delta shows the determination to stand up to become a leader within our community. Through this four-day training program, attendees will learn exactly what type of leader they are. With every exercise, their leadership skills will be tested and these young leaders will begin to see exactly what their strengths and weaknesses are.

ORGANIZATION

Attendees come from different backgrounds and are on different parts of their lives. Camp Delta is hosted by AASIA, and its six main Louisiana VSA's come together to train their leadership activities to improve their VSA's. Camp Delta has outreached to other schools and organizations such as Ole Miss, Mississippi State, the University of Southern Mississippi, the University of South Alabama, and even universities in Texas. Many collaborate with these schools and organizations within their universities or within their community. Camp Delta offers activities to focus on roles, responsibilities, and expectations of officers and members of an organization.
